Do Cruise, You'll Love It

After posting about my great experiences in cruising, I was asked to share some my thoughts and cruise experiences.  I have answered those blog friends but I thought I would share a few photos that show why a picture is worth a thousand words.  I just can't do justice to some things with mere descriptions.  These are a few pictures from various cruises we've taken, over the years.

The first is that water.  That header photo was taken from our balcony out in the Caribbean Ocean, not close to land.  Can you believe how blue that is?

My favorite color though is this Caribbean blue.  The color of the water around the islands.  That water speaks to me.

On a 7 day cruise, in the dining room, the waiters will perform twice.  They usually have choreographed dances.  It is a joy to see 50 or so waiters singing and dancing. I realize, to them, it is part of the job, but to us, it is great fun.

Here's Terry out on our balcony reading.  I really don't go out there much.  It is fun to get up in the morning and walk out to get a look at where you are, but, it is hot and humid in the Caribbean and whimp that I am, I don't want to sit out there.

Notice that balcony railing.   There is no way a person and just "fall overboard".   So, if a person goes over, there is either foul play or stupidity involved.

Every night after dinner, when you go back to your cabin, you will find your bed turned down and one of these cute little towel critters on your bed.  I believe it is a cruise requirement to take pictures of them.

This was an Inside cabin.  No window.  We have our towel critter and the programs laid out telling us the itinerary for the next day.  Information about the port and about the events on board the ship.  The bed is not turned down so this must have been when we entered the first day.

This was a church group that were all traveling together.  This was taken on Royal Caribbean's  private Island in the Bahamas, Coco Cay.   They were renewing their wedding vows.  Terry and I gabbed a lounge early so we could watch.  I thought they looked marvelous and what a great idea.

I couldn't post all these photos without sharing this one from our stop in Key West, Florida.

You don't see a sight like this everyday.

This really looks like loads of fun. This reminds me that on our Princess cruise to Alaska in 2011, there weren't any of those towel things. I wonder why...

Thank goodness we don't see a site like that everyday!

You've made me want to go on another cruise. A week is never enough. We've done several 14 day cruises and that is perfect!

We went to Coco Kay on our very first cruise. Love everyone in white renewing their vows. That is so cool!

Thanks for some warm pictures this very cold Missouri morning!

That does look like great fun. I've only been on one cruise and I felt like a "movie star" with all the care and attention provided on board. I boarded as a traveller and de-boarded as a Diva!

Gorgeous tropical photos. I love the ocean. Have never taken a cruise though. It looks very inviting.

My nausea was very short lived and we really did have a wonderful time. I had a "special" nighty that our steward would fold into all kinds of interesting shapes at the end of the day. It was fun! We had no money (in-laws bought the cruise, we had just enough for the tips) and didn't do any of the planned excursions, we had some very interesting experiences on our own, to say the least. Boy, were we naive then. I will never forget the blue water. It's funny, when I think about it, it was only 7 days, but I have so many memories and funny stories from it.

hmmm. I always said that cruises are like floating prisons, but after looking at your blog pics, I might change my mind. I would prefer a cabin with a window, though.

Thanks so much for sharing some of your cruise photos. That water is sooo lovely!

I haven't given up my dream of cruising, even though the recent disaster gave me a bit of a case of "cold feet". I'm still getting emails with cruise deals. I just haven't decided when is the right time and place.

Thanks for the flashlight tip! I never would have thought of that.

Thanks for sharing the pictures! DH and I are still debating where to go on our upcoming cruise ... there are so many Caribbean ports of call to choose from. I just cannot wait to see the beautiful blue water and lovely sandy beaches! And if we were going to renew our wedding vows, I have to think that you couldn't do any better than somewhere in the Caribbean. ;-)

I enjoy cruising - but in a small scale way (as in driving the boat with 3-4 people on board)...

:)
