Movie TIme Again

Every Sunday morning I watch the CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood.   I started watching it when Terry and I were first married and would go visit his parents.  They lived about 3 1/2 hours north of us so it was usually a long weekend, we'd spend with them.  Sunday morning at their house was homemade cinnamon rolls, coffee and that program with Charles Kuralt.

This last Sunday morning had a feature on Glenn Close.  I am a huge fan of hers.  I love Damages that originated of FX and then moved to Direct-TV.  (Why do they do that.?)   Of course, she scared the  &%&#& out of  married men that were having affairs in the 80's with Fatal Attraction.    (Just between you and I, I coveted her hair in that movie. That was 1983 and big hair was just coming in.)

But the movie I always associate with her is  1983's  The Big Chill,  about 7 University of Michigan  friends, gathering for a weekend at a southern antebellum home, for the funeral of one of their group that had committed suicide.   (Do you remember the "friend" never had face time.  Only his hair was shown being combed and that it was Kevin Costner?)

What's not to love for us boomers.  We get to watch other boomers dance and reminisce about  their college days, all to the soundtrack of Motown music.  Well, there was that other issue that developed..... If you're a boomer and have not seen this movie, do.  I think you'll enjoy it.

If you're not a boomer, I think you would like it too, if only for the music.  It's a classic.

                                                                      Enjoy, I know I do.

I just finished "catching up" on the posts I've missed lately! I've left comments on all posts.

Somehow, I've missed seeing "The Big Chill". I love that music--takes me right back to a special time in my life!

In your comment, you asked where I'm located. I live 55 miles west of Savannah, in a small town called Glennville. (We are 28 miles from Statesboro, GA, if you've heard of that)

Although Ed and I lived in Savannah for 5 years in the early 70's, we rarely spent any time in historical Savannah. We just weren't interested at the time. Now I'd love to go and take a tour. We didn't even visit Riverstreet until many years later, when we took our children. Believe it or not...

The Big Chill... one of my all time favorites!!!! And the music. Oh my! And I'm a big fan of Glenn Close too. Her hair isn't all the big anymore. Its looking a little thin kinda like mine. Ahhhh the joys of us boomers.

I need to rent "The Big Chill", I've probably seen it but have forgotten it, as I usually do. Sounds like one I would enjoy.
Every man should see "Fatal Attraction" - seriously spooky!

I like Glenn Close, too, and also loved her hair in Fatal Attraction! Now that was one thriller movie. I don't remember seeing the Big Chill, I'll have to look for it. And MoTown music? Can't beat it.

I know that movie well. I've watched it several times. It hard for me to think of Glenn Close without thinking of Fatal Attraction though. There is much to be said about old movies. Some of these new ones can not come close to the great old boomer movies.
