Happy Birthday Robert Redford

I didn't know that today was Robert's ( we're on a first name basis evidently) birthday until I saw it on World News just now.  Robert Redford is 75 today, Thursday, August 18th. Wow....Like his buddy Paul Newman, this man ages like fine wine.

I have previously posted on how much I liked  Jeremiah Johnson.     There are so many of his characters  that left us ladies a little weak in the knees. What woman didn't fall a little in  love with "Hubbell" in  The Way We Were,    " Jay Gatsby" in The Great Gatsby,  or  "Denys" in Out of Africa.    My husband has long said that if I were given the choice between him and Robert Red,  Indecent Proposal  style,   he would still be sitting on that bench and I would be dancing in that big house with Robert's "John Gage".  Yesterday I posted a question: What movies have made you cry?  My Daughter # 3 came up with one that I had forgotten.  Robert Redford and Michelle Pfeiffer in  Up Close and Personal.   Oh, my gosh.  Pass the whole box of Kleenex please.

"Hubbell" from The Way We Were.

This video is the Celine Dion theme " Because You Loved me".  There was only Spanish movie trailer available so here they are, more Celine than Robert.

So many great movies,  All the President's Men, Three Days of the Condor, Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid, The Sting, and  The Natural.    I can go on and on and I think I just did.

Thank you Mr. Redford for your amazing body of work and for being so darn handsome to watch as you  do that work.

there are few, if any, movie stars who hide from the Hollywood life the way Redford and Newman have. they are real men.

I enjoyed reading your GOOD NEWS - a new art project - Me too! I'm also in the gathering stages. What's with both of us being inspired at the same time?! :-)

Up Close and Personal. I am adding this to my watch-it-again list.

And the man is handsome. No doubt about it.

My only daughter met him at Sundance the film festival he almost skiied into her, he is down to earth and only shows up to address the opening of the all film festival..She goes to the film festival and many others each year, busy busy! One day I came home from work to find UPS placed a box in our front door with the matt on top of it, inside was a note from "Bob" saying how much he enjoyed meeting our daughter and how she said her Mom was still in love with him from The Way we were and happily married married many many years to her daddy, he got a big kick out of it and her experience in indy films and films in general..she did not gush over hiim, thought his gal pal wonderful and talked a good long while that is saying something for that baby doll of ours as she is extra private and not at all impressed by celebrities of anykind and she meets tons of those human beings and always says they put their clothes on the same as she and her momma & daddy does but they have no manners at all most of them and try to bully and are mean to others..what a smart dolly..anywhooooo I have always known his birthdate and Dustin Hoffman too..both Leo's and both the sign of the OX take away the celebrity and they are just ordinary fellows well not to me but really our sweet angel said he likes to ski and be with his gal pal and out on the earth many acres he owns in Park City Utah better than anytime on the screen he is actually kind of shy..wow whee and a hunk still at 75! Love your blog, it is sweet..Happy Valentines day...
